Since the 1969 Moon landing mankind has been looking towards our next closest astrological neighbor: Mars. Skip forward 50 years and we’re finally making significant strides to set foot on the Red Planet, and in celebration of all that has been achieved we decided to create The Original Mars Lamp.
Some of the most ingenious leaps towards exploring Mars have been successfully landing rovers on the surface to analyze and learn about the planet, the most recent of which being the Perseverance. On-board the rover is also a small remote controlled helicopter known as Ingenuity, and in the last few weeks alone it has taken its first flight, capturing images of the planet from a vantage point never before seen.
Now we don’t know about you, but these incredible technological leaps take our breath away! That’s why we have gone out of our way to ensure that we recreated the surface of Mars as faithfully and accurately as possible. ‘How have you done that?’ we hear you ask. Well first off we procured thousands of highly detailed NASA satellite photos so our skilled team of designers and artists could replicate the topography of the Red Planet.
While NASA have certainly been knocking it out of the park when it comes to pushing boundaries and coming up with wonderfully inventive new ways of doing things, we’re also making advancements of our own! The Original Mars Lamp is 3D printed in one single piece, meaning that it is much more structurally sound than the industry-standard 2-piece lamps. The printing process for each lamp also takes a whopping 26 hours to ensure that not only is it durable and robust, but also of the highest quality possible with current technology.
So let’s talk safety! A manned mission to Mars would undoubtedly be a dangerous undertaking and would take its toll on the crew. The journey there alone would take approximately 9 months and that’s before they’d even got to work on the planet itself! It’s a tough, hard and dangerous job. Luckily when it came to The Original Mars Lamp we had safety in the forefront of our minds! We did everything to ensure that the lamp was as safe and user friendly as humanly possible!
Let’s start with the LEDs contained within the lamp. Whereas other lamps might heat up and become painfully hot to the touch, our LEDs are low heat – meaning no burnt fingers! As previously mentioned we 3D print in one single piece to ensure structural stability, and you also have the option of the lamp being cable-less, meaning that there’s no chance anyone will trip up over it or have to deal with electricity until it requires recharging. We thought of everything!
And what about little space explorers? In the same way that kids will look up in wonder towards Mars and let their minds go wild about the exploration of this extra-terrestrial surface, they will look at The Original Mars Lamp and want to learn and play. While it’s not a toy, it is definitely safe to be handled by kids, and without a shadow of a doubt they would love to sit in the warming glow of our lamp learning about the exploration of a Red Planet over 34million miles away.
So don’t delay, get over to our incredible online store and pick up your very own Original Mars Lamp or The Original 16 Colors Mars Lamp. While mankind might not yet be able to call Mars their home, you can certainly welcome Mars into your very own home here on Earth.
