We don’t want to sound big-headed or like we’re boasting or anything, but we’re pretty certain we make the best, most accurate and most loved Moon Lamps around! People around the world enjoy our amazing lamps every single day, but a question we get asked a lot is ‘how do you actually make your Moon Lamps?’ Well today we’re going to explain to you – from thread to needle – the entire process!
Step one: It all starts with an idea! What kind of Moon Lamp do we want to make and how do we want it to look? What functionalities could the lamp have? How can we make something exquisitely beautiful yet amazingly practical for our customers? We brainstorm all these questions (and many more). It is only when we have an answer for every single one of those questions that we move on!
Step two: Designing the dream! Our amazing design team takes our plans and refines them into a final practical design. They model it on the computer and ensure that each and every square millimetre of the Moon Lamp’s design is not only perfect but also reflects the company’s inspiration – the moon! The team use thousands of NASA satellite images to make sure that he model is 100% accurate! Every little minute detail is planned out, all the way down to where the low-heat LEDs are going to go and how the lamps stand or base will look. Once this final design is approved and signed off on, we are good to move onto the next step!
Step three: Printing off perfection! Once the final design is hit upon we head on over to our in-house 3D printer to print the actual Moon Lamp. The 3D printing process takes around 26 hours (hey – you can’t rush quality) and the whole lamp is printed in one whole piece. We do this to remove the need for an unsightly seam where we have had to join the two halves together. The real moon doesn’t have a join so why should our lamps! Oh, and speaking of the printing process, the material that we use is 100% safe and non toxic. We want our lamps to be enjoyed by everyone – adults and kids alike!
Step four: Testing, testing and testing again! The last thing that we want is to be shipping out inferior Moon Lamps to our customers. We pride ourselves on our high standards and we strive to maintain them at all times! We poke them, we prod them, we drop them (not from too high though), we stress them, we test them to within an inch of their life to make sure they are up to scratch! But we are proud to say all of our products are FCC, CE, and RohS certified so you can rest assured that our Moon Lamps have passed their trials and are 100% safe!
Step five: Putting them on sale and sending them to you! We’re not going to lie; this is the most satisfying step of them all because this is where all our hard work pays off!
